Mrs. D'Amore began teaching at Baird Middle School in 1999. During those years, she has served on numerous curriculum and leadership committees, been the student council advisor, and has served as Baird's English and Reading Department Chair since 2010. A recipient of the Grinspoon Foundation's "Excellence in Teaching" award, Mrs. D'Amore holds a Bachelor's degree in English from UMASS Amherst and a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist from Westfield State. She holds teaching certifications in English 5-9, Reading (all levels), Sheltered English Immersion, and Principal/Assistant Principal 5-8. In an effort to continuously develop as an educator, every summer Mrs. D'Amore enrolls in courses with topics such as The Growth Mindset, Differentiating Instruction, Social and Emotional Learning, and Strategies for Addressing Student Anxiety.
